It's a miracle! . The Banwaon New Testament is now It's a miracle!
.
The Banwaon New Testament is now 76% complete!
.
God answered so many prayers when we were on our whirlwind three week trip to the village last December.
.
THANK YOU if you were praying
.
Sent out a newsletter this week telling of those exciting miracles.
.
Link in comments below.
.
Rejoicing still!
.
And trusting Him with all that's ahead.
Hoorah, another 6km walk this evening. . This is o Hoorah, another 6km walk this evening.
.
This is one of my all time favourite walks along beautiful North Haven beach.
.
On sweltering days in the Jolly Jungle I often dreamed of this beach, with its fresh breezes and vast sandy arch.
.
I can't believe we've been back over a year and this is the first time I've taken the time to walk right to the very end and back.
.
I used to walk it all the time in years gone by.
.
Today was a treat.
.
The Fella walked with me.
.
He'd been working all day in his office without a break, making steady progress on the intense process of "back translation" of Matthew for our consultant.
.
I was working on a backlog of correspondence. Email box down from 297 to 46. Goal is 0. 😁
.
The exercise and sea air did us both a world of good.
.
Senses refreshed.
.
Energy recharged.
.
Perspective renewed.
.
Thank You, kind Father. 🙌💕
Yesterday morning Albert was in his office acting Yesterday morning Albert was in his office acting like “mission control”.
.
Even although we’re currently back in Australia, thanks to the wonders of modern communication, which has even penetrated the Jolly Jungle, Albert was sending messages back and forth between our Banwaon friends in the mountain village …
.
.
🖥️📡 “... kagi gabi ku pilutu ha alas 7 midya su pakasagkaw din diyan .... How’s the weather there this morning? Is it good for the pilot to come in? Okay, I’ll let you know what time he plans to be there. Stand by.” (via FB Messenger, all in the Banwaon language)
.
.
And then relayed in English to our pilot in town and his wife at her home (we all know the pilot’s wife is the REAL mission control! 😉💕) …
.
.
🚁 Pilot: “Sounds good Albert, ETA still 7.30. Taking off soon.”
.
💻 Albert: “Excellent. Thanks!”
.
🏠 Pilot’s wife: “6.53 departure”
.
.
And so it went (via Microsoft Teams).
.
Thousands of kilometres away in our Aussie home office we continued with our work, and prayed.
.
Later in the day the pilot and Albert had a final chat which started – “Hey Albert, all went well today just as planned …” followed by a long discussion with details.
.
One of the things the pilot was flying in was a sling load of metal roofing sheets.
.
Whenever there’s a church outreach and the new believers are being discipled, eventually the time comes where they want their own church building.
.
It’s so beautiful how the Banwaon believers from the main village have committed to supporting these new church outreaches by helping with labour, timber and nails.
.
For our part, Albert and I committed many years ago to trusting God to provide so we can donate the roofing metal for any new outreaches.
.
And so we praise God today, again, for …
.
🚁 Mission aviation in general and Ethnos360Aviation in particular
.
🚁 Our highly skilled pilots and their equally dedicated wives
.
🙏 New church outreaches needing roofing
.
📡 Modern communication methods
.
🙌 God’s faithful provision

So I decided to walk to Woollies for the groceries.
.
8.6 km return.
.
9 kilo backpack on the return trip.
.
Am I nuts!!!! 🤪🤭
.
Nah - I loved it!
.
Not so much walking along the main road ... but look at this gorgeous little bush path for part of the way home. 😍🙌
.
A marvelous chat with God along the way.
.
Body was weary but spirits were definitely restored.
.
Grateful.
.
Plus, think of all the fuel costs I saved! 😳🤔😂
I've always been a morning walker. . But lately I' I've always been a morning walker.

But lately I'm savouring long walks in the late summer evenings.

Winding down after warm busy days.

Chatting with the Father.

There’s a fabulous Banwaon word – “Tagduwaduwa There’s a fabulous Banwaon word - “Tagduwaduwa”. Literally - “two-two”.
.
In everyday language - “I’m divided about my thoughts on this”.
.
And that’s how I feel about Christmas.
.
Again.
.
... “Oh holy night, the stars are brightly shining, it is the night of the dear Saviour’s birth” ….
.
... “It’s the most wonderful time … of the year!”
.
Yes!
.
But also …
.
“… the weary world rejoices.”
.
Sometimes the world just is – weary.
.
People are weary.
.
And sad.
.
For so many, Christmas is not the most wonderful time of the year.
.
This year will be our first without my dad.
.
We celebrate his LIFE in eternity. But we also grieve his loss. We miss him.
.
Others are grieving.
.
Missing loved ones.
Loved ones who recently left this world - or those who left awhile ago …
Missing family living far away … Wishing they had a family …
Wishing their family were talking, were whole again ...
Missing home and the familiar.
.
These thoughts were reflected and discussed oh so well in a recent podcast all about “Blue Christmases”.
.
I'd never heard the term before, but it sums things up well.
.
The podcast is hosted by my beloved writers’ group, Gracewriters (the ones who interviewed Albert and me earlier this year.)
.
“Blue Christmas” is worth listening to.
.
As I celebrate the thrill of hope this Christmas season – and celebrate family and friends both near and far - I want to be mindful of the paradox, as Belinda Pollard reminds us in the discussion – that we also celebrate the birth of the “man of sorrows”.
.
He sees. He knows. He understands.
.
To those who are facing a Blue Christmas – you are in my thoughts and prayers – as together we celebrate ... and grieve.
.
You are seen.
You are acknowledged.
You are loved.
xxxx
